What is Stencil Control?
Stencil Control is a software solution for industrial Marsh Ink Jet and Willett Ink Jet printer systems meeting the demanding printing requirements of an automated processing line. Easily integrated into your pulp tracking, bale tracking or roll tracking system, the strengths of this outstanding product have been continually refined and the resulting versatility of Stencil Control make it suitable for print applications in any industry. If you track any product on a continuous production line, Stencil Control can handle the complexities of the most demanding stencil or logo printing applications, including foreign languages and graphics.
Printer Support
Multiple printers may be supported by either running multiple coordinated instances of this application program or by embedding from 1 to 3 printers within a single instance (three printers are being controlled in above sample screenshot).
Template Layouts
The template concept significantly expands upon the printer controllers ability to store/recall messages. Templates are created using Stencil Configuration. Working with templates offers some important benefits:
- Simplifies the task of setting a print message
- Consistent appearance of printed information
- Descriptive name for print message
- Support for embedded data fields (e.g. custom lot identifier)
- Support for non-displayable characters (e.g. custom graphic logo)
Set Print Message
The print message is manually changed by accessing the Set Current Stencil dialog form. An operator selects an appropriate template, enters any required field values, adjusts the printable count identifier as desired, and submits the new stencil information. The print message is automatically updated via provided DDE support logic.
KID Emulation
Stencil Control communicates with the Marsh LCP printer via an RS232 interface. By accessing the Terminal dialog form, an administrative operator may interact with the printer controller as though connected using the keypad input device.
Purging Control
Stencil Control transmits the appropriate commands to the printer controller for initiating/terminating the purge operation.
Standalone Operation
Stencil Control can provide a complete solution for a production line operator.
DDE Support
Stencil Control employs dynamic data exchange technology to provide a simple and reliable automation interface.
Stencil Configuration
Stencil Configuration is a companion utility product included with Stencil Control which facilitates initial installation and subsequent administrative tasks.
